2025 Community Impact Grant

The Old Lyme Fire Department receive a 2025 Eversource Energy Community Impact Grant for $2,000. Following a needs assessment, they applied for the 2025 Community Impact Grant to replace and upgrade all of their Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) for the two zodiac rescue boats. The new PFD's will increase both their member's and the victim's safety, in the event that they have to go into the water to perform a rescue. 2024 PINE Award of Excellence

Pinnacle of Excellence Soft book Award

The Print Industry of New England (PINE) announced on May 9, 2024 that Essex Printing and the Old Lyme Fire Department (OLFD) have received the Pinnacle Award in PINE’s New England Regional Awards of Excellence competition. 

Judged anonymously on its own merit in the soft cover book category with similar printed pieces, the award was for the Old Lyme Fire Department 100th Anniversary (1923-2023) book. The Pinnacle Award is given to the most outstanding entry in each category, and must be flawless to win.

Congratulations Old Lyme Fire DepartmentCT Water Grant presentation of $1500

Chief McCarthy, 1st Assistant Chief Swaney and First Selectwoman Martha Shoemaker were on hand to receive a check for $1500 from Connecticut Water Company for pump operator training. This ensures proper hydrant use and protects the critical water infrastructure in town.
