The Duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission are defined by Old Lyme Town Ordinance 20-8:  The responsibility for the management, control and development of the Town’s recreational facilities and expenditures made in connection therewith is vested in a Parks and Recreation Commission.

The Commission works closely with, and provides guidance to, the Old Lyme Parks and Recreation Department, which maintains a number of Town-owned parks and recreational facilities. The Parks and Recreation Department also sponsors a wide variety of recreational activities for Old Lyme residents and the general public, for both children and adults, and works with non-profit athletic organizations and Lyme-Old Lyme schools to expand on those programs sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.   

Please direct questions about reserving Town recreational facilities for group activities, and for individual participation in Town-organized recreational activities, to the Parks and Recreation Department.  

For participation in recreational activities organized by non-profit athletic organizations or the schools, please contact those organizations directly.
