Tax Collector
January 2026 is just around the corner. Second installment payments of Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes are due January 1 and delinquent after Monday, February 2, 2026. Grand Year List 2024 Supplemental Motor Vehicle Taxes also will be due at that time. The Supplemental bills are for vehicles registered or registrations transferred to a new vehicle after October 1, 2024. Those new bills will be mailed in mid-December and available online through our webpage for payment starting January 1, 2026.
Remember, if you no longer have a vehicle, please contact Old Lyme Assessor for a possible Motor Vehicle Adjustment that could reduce your taxes before you send us your payment.
Real Estate & Personal Property Taxes
We do not mail taxpayers a December reminder for 2nd installment of Real Estate or Personal Property taxes. You received your 2nd installment payment coupon in late June 2025. Replacement coupons can be printed from our website, see How to Check Payment Status and Print Duplicate Payment Coupons below.
Mortgage Escrow Accounts
If you paid off your Mortgage in recent months and no longer have your Real Estate property taxes paid through an Escrow Account, it is your responsibility to make the 2nd installment payment. We will not mail you the 2nd coupon for January payment. If you cannot find your account on our webpage, please contact us.
We always accept partial payments of taxes due once a Tax Year has started. You may pay some or all of your 2nd installment of Real Estate or Personal Property taxes in calendar year 2025 if you choose to do so.
Use these buttons to take you to our tax payment portal.
If you make an online payment through our portal, please note that it will not be reflected on our website for at least 24 hours. Please retain your confirmation receipt from your credit/debit card or your bank account if you choose our ACH electronic check option.
Online Payment Fees:
- Credit card fee 2.5% (minimum fee of $2.00)
- Debit card fee 1.0% (minimum fee of $2.00)
- ACH (electronic) e-Check fee $0.95 (ninety-five cents)

Then scroll to the top, click on the gold shopping cart bar to check out and complete payment.
All set with CT Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)?
CT DMV will not process motor vehicle or boat registrations if you have delinquent Motor Vehicle taxes. We need at least 48 hours to release credit/debit card payments and checks need to clear before we can release vehicles. And sometimes there are computer glitches between CT DMV and our tax system. Before you make a DMV appointment or mail DMV your registration fee, please use this CT DMV Compliance portal to see if CT DMV reflects that you have been cleared by Town of Old Lyme. Please call us if your taxes are paid up but you get a hold flag! CT DMV Check for Compliance
