Hope everyone enjoyed the snow this week - looks like more is coming!This weekly newsletter emphasizes some important updates from various departments and commissions. - The Assessor Office: The Assessor would like to remind residents that the Old Lyme Board of Assessment Appeals will be meeting in March to hear appeals for real estate and personal property. Applications are available in the Assessor’s office, on the Board of Assessment Appeals website or on the town website. This application must be completely filled out and returned to the Assessor’s office on or before February 20th, by the close of business. Hearings will be held at the Old Lyme Town Hall, Meeting Hall.
- The Open Space Commission would like everyone to know that the Bartholomew Open Space on Buttonball Road is open again, after being closed by a flooded trail. The Open Space Commission extends its thanks to 15-year-old Logan Landry for designing, receiving approvals for, and coordinating the construction of a 25-foot-long bridge for his Eagle Scout community project. Bartholomew will be the site of a spring 2025 Hikers’ Happy Hour Walk.
- The Lyme-Old Lyme Lions Club’s Scholarship Pancake Breakfast for this Sunday has been cancelled due to the weather forecast for Saturday night into Sunday. They have rescheduled this event to March 9th. Please mark your calendars with the new date.

- On Sunday at 7:30 AM, please tune in to WFSB to see a segment on Amazing K9 Duo’s. This week they are showcasing the Connecticut State Police comfort K9 teams. Resident State Trooper Matt Weber and Viera’s interview will be featured. Viera loved being interviewed!
