It is fortuitous that during Fire Prevention week we would be notified that the Old Lyme Fire Department has been awarded a Volunteer Fire Assistance competitive  grant for $2,500. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Division of Forestry has issued these grants for over 30 years and we congratulate the Department for being a selected recipient.

Holiday Closing Schedule

The Town Hall will be closed Monday, October 9th, in observance of Columbus Day. The Transfer Station will also be closed.  There will be trash and recycle collection on Monday, as usual.

Assessor's Office Notification

The Assessor’s Office reminds all Persons Conducting Business in the Town of Old Lyme that, pursuant to Section 12-40 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the requirement to file.  Notice is hereby given that they must file a complete and accurate Declaration of all taxable personal property used in the conduct of your business with the Assessor’s Office as of October 1, 2023.  Personal Property Declarations have been mailed out to persons known to be conducting business in the Town of Old Lyme.  Whether or not you have received a Declaration, such Declaration must be filed or postmarked (as defined in C.G.S. Sec. 1-2a) no later than Tuesday, November 1, 2023.  

Election Information

The Municipal Election will take place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 and the polls will be open from 6:00am. to 8:00pm. The polling location is the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School gymnasium located at 53 Lyme Street. Absentee Ballots will be available beginning October 6, 2023.  For more information on how to apply for an absentee ballot contact the Town Clerk’s office. Lymes' Senior Center

The towns of Lyme and Old Lyme are honored to each have been awarded small Town Economic Assistance Program of $500,000 to assist with the Senior Center expansion project.  We thank Governor Lamont, Senator Marx and Representative Carney for their assistance as well as the Lymes' Senior Center Building Committee chair, Jeri Baker for her hard work to complete the application. Old Lyme Historical Society Plant Sale

Rain or shine, this Saturday and Sunday morning to mid day the Old Lyme Historical Society will be having their Annual Fall Plant Sale at 55 Lyme Street. If you haven't purchased your fall plantings or mums stop by.

Please Note

This Sunday, October 7th, the TBBCF Walk - TBBCF Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation walkers will be on Route 156.  This year is their 18th Annual Walk for a Cure - please plan accordingly. 

Lastly, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Ralph F. Eno, Jr., the former First Selectman of Lyme.
