Open Space Recognition Awards
Eleven graduating seniors at Lyme-Old Lyme High School were honored on April 19th for their years of volunteer work on various Town open space parcels through the school’s Environmental/Community Service Club. Each students received a Certificate of Appreciation and an Open Space T-shirt.
Lyme - Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce Event
Reminder, the Chamber invites all Lyme and Old Lyme business people to a special Bridging Businesses social event on April 26th from 5-7pm to celebrate the merger of the LOL Chamber with the Old Saybrook Chamber. See the recent letter to Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber members for more information and instructions to RSVP.
Harbor Management Commission (HMC)
The HMC is seeking help to identify the owners of a number of kayaks, which can be seen in this slideshow of photos, currently stored on the Town-owned racks at Pilgrims Landing. While none of them have owner's identification, these craft have been locked onto the racks over the winter and are subject to removal ahead of the 2023 season. If you recognize any and know the owner(s), please contact the HMC immediately.
The 37th Annual Youth Art Show
The Lymes' Youth Service Bureau's annual art show at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts opened this week. The show features the artwork of Lyme-Old Lyme Students grades K-12 and is quite spectacular and worth a visit. Gallery Hours: Saturdays April 22 & 29 from 10am-4pm. We are also delighted to announce that some of the artwork in the exhibition will be displayed at the Town Hall in May.
Tree Commission - Free Tree Seedlings
The Old Lyme Tree Commission will be giving away FREE Tree Seedlings to Old Lyme residents only on Saturday, April 29th at the Town Hall 10-12pm. See their flyer which describes the varieties of trees available.
Job Posting
The Town of Old Lyme is seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant to support the Building Department. Interested applicants should complete the Town's job application which can be found online. Please email your application and resume to Katherine Balocca at kbalocca@oldlyme-ct.gov or mail/deliver it to 52 Lyme Street.
Lastly, if you have unwanted medicine that you want to dispose of bring it to the Drug Take Back Day at the Lyme St. Firehouse on Saturday, April 22nd between 10am-2pm.
