Town Clerk Services

Dog Licensing

Dog licensing will begin on June 1st. The law requires that every dog must be licensed once it becomes six months old and then annually every June. Any residents who get a new dog at any point during the year, must obtain a license for it within 30 days of acquiring the new dog. New dog license applications are available here. For dogs currently licensed, renewals will be mailed out prior to June 1st. We encourage you to renew/license your dogs by mail, however we will be accepting walk-in registrations.

Please submit or bring with you the dog license application and/or renewal form, the current rabies vaccination issued by your veterinarian (rabies must be effective July 1, 2025), and a check made payable to the "Town of Old Lyme" for the appropriate fee. If applying by mail, please send your information to:
     Town Clerk
     52 Lyme Street
     Old Lyme, CT 06371
Please include a return, self-addressed, double stamped envelope.

Dog license applications and renewals may also be placed in our drop box located on the far left, front door of the town hall. The Town Clerk's office will begin imposing a late fee of $1 per month beginning July 1, 2025.
