PLEASE NOTE: The location of the referendum is the Old Lyme Memorial Town Hall Meeting Room on the first floor NOT at the LOL Middle School.
Sound View Beach & Miscellaneous Town Area B Sewer Project Referendum
Electors and Persons eligible to vote at Town Meetings of the Town of Old Lyme by voting machine to be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Memorial Town Hall Meeting Room, 52 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut.
Registered Old Lyme Voters and Persons who are liable for taxes assessed on the last completed Grand List of the Town of Old Lyme, which assessment, under Section 12 of the Connecticut General Statutes, is not less than $1,000 per each name in which title to the property is held are eligible to vote.
Voting by Absentee Ballot
Absentee ballots are available if you are unable to appear at the polling place on the day of such event for one of the following reasons:
- active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
- absence from town of residence
- sickness
- religious tenets forbid secular activity on election day
- duties as an election official at a polling place other than their own during the hours of voting
- physical disability
How to Apply for an Absentee Ballot:
1 .Printable application for Absentee Ballot to be completed and dropped off or mailed to the Town Clerk. Original wet ink signature is required.
** Please note that Persons who are eligible to vote (unregistered Old Lyme voters) must provide a Statement of Eligibility with their Absentee Ballot Application. See below.

3. In person by visiting the Town Clerk’s Office, 52 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT
Ballots must be returned by 8 pm on election day to be counted.

Voter Registration Requirements
To register to vote in Old Lyme, Connecticut, you must:
- be a United States citizen;
- be a resident of our Town;
- be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 on or before election day); and
- have completed confinement if previously convicted of a disfranchising felon.

Voting by Absentee Ballot
Absentee ballots are available to applicants who are eligible to vote in an election, primary or referendum, and that are unable to appear at the polling place on the day of such event for one of the following reasons:

Applications can be accepted any time and voters are encouraged to turn them in as soon as possible. Ballots and applications may be returned through the mail, our secure Official Ballot Drop Box outside of the Old Lyme Memorial Town Hall or in person to the Town Clerk during regular office hours. The ballots can be issued in person only to the voter who applied or can be mailed directly to the voter.
