Weekly Update from the First Selectman (11.19.2021)

As we head into Thanksgiving week, I want to thank all of the wonderful residents who volunteer their time for the benefit of Old Lyme. This includes those who serve as elected or appointed members of Town boards, commissions, and committees, those who are volunteers of our fire department or ambulance service, and those who give their time to non-profit organizations and other such entities. Without this strong volunteer network, Old Lyme would not be the great town that it is. We are indeed thankful for your service and commitment.

Our Public Works Department informed us that some residents are raking leaves into the street. Be aware the Town does not provide leaf pick up, so for the safety of everyone, please do not rake leaves near or onto the street.

LYSB and Old Lyme Police will be holding their Thanksgiving Food Drive to help local families in need. They will be near the Big Y on Saturday, November 20th between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to receive your food donations. Food donations may also be dropped off at the LYSB.  Residents who need help with food can find information at www.lysb.org/holidaygiving.

Town offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 25th and 26th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday

I hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family.
