Dear Residents and Taxpayers of Old Lyme,

Last night the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance unanimously approved to move the Amendment Resolution Related To The Sound View Beach And Miscellaneous Town Area B Sewer Project to a Town Meeting and Referendum.  The process for this will be as follows:

December 9th – The Board of Selectman will hold a Special Town Meeting to consider and discuss (but not vote on) the appropriation and financing resolution, adjourn the meeting, and submit the Resolution to Referendum.

December 16th – A Town Referendum will be held in Memorial Town Hall’s Meeting Room.  This is the same location we used for Early Voting in the Municipal Elections.  In Person Voting will take place from 12-8 PM.

Absentee Ballot Applications are available online and in the Town Clerk’s office as of today.

A copy of the resolution and an estimated cost per EDU (Equivalent Dwelling Unit) for Sound View Residents and Taxpayers are posted on the Town Website.

Next week, we will publish an informational document on the project so that the public will be informed.   This document must be approved by our legal team before publication.

Sincerely,
Martha H. Shoemaker
