This was a very busy short week! Below are a few highlights I'd like to share:
The week began with a very informative Special Board of Selectmen meeting to discuss speeding and road safety concerns in the Town of Old Lyme. The Board of Selectmen appreciated hearing the residents’ concerns and the attendance of Resident State Trooper Matthew Weber and local officers.
We are happy to report we will be offering an online payment option for purchasing your beach parking permits this year. We are still finalizing the details, and will provide you with the proper information soon. Please do not send in any requests for permits or money until May 1st.
Due to ongoing construction at Pilgrims Landing, the kayak permitting process is experiencing a delay. Watch the website for updates and complete information.
I have proclaimed that Old Lyme will dedicate April as Donate Life month. We will be hosting a flag raising ceremony here at Town Hall on Friday, April 5th. A breakfast reception will commence at 10:00am, with the flag raising taking place at 10:30am.
Please make a note on your calendars that there will be a Special Town Meeting on Monday, April 15th at 7:30pm at the Lyme - Old Lyme Middle School. This will follow the Board of Finance Annual Town Budget Public Hearing.
We are seeking individuals with an Informational Technology background to serve on our Town Hall IT Committee. If you are interested in serving please contact Katie Balocca at kbalocca@oldlyme-ct.gov.
One last quick reminder, the Town Hall and the Transfer Station will be closed tomorrow, Friday, March 29th in observance of Good Friday. Trash and recycling pickup will be as normal. Enjoy the long weekend.
All my best,
Martha
