Visiting Nurse
Since first established in 1922, the Old Lyme Visiting Nurse Association has been the public health nursing service of the town. Unique in this day and age of large multi-town agencies, our association exclusively services the residents of Old Lyme.

Our Board of Directors and Associates, all local volunteers, guides our organization and lends their time and efforts to our clinics and services. Town Nurse Linda Camarra, R.N., make a number of home visits a month to those persons in need of health care supervision, and is available each Monday to Thursday from12 noon to 1pm in the nurse's office in the Lymes' Senior Center for visits and consultation.

The Association offers a number of clinics and services throughout the year to our townspeople, usually for free or at a reduced and reasonable cost. These include Flu and Pneumonia inoculations, Adult Audio Screenings, Bone Density Screenings, Blood Pressure Check-up Clinics, and a Pre-Kindergarten Audio/Visual Screening Clinic. Also an annual Health Day that offer opportunities for a comprehensive blood test screening, vision and dental screenings and several ultra sound tests.

For those persons newly discharged from a hospital, a nursing home or a convalescent facility in need of on-going services, we are able to provide a full range of professionals to continue care in your home. These include nurse, therapists (physical, occupational, speech and language), certified home health aides, companions/homemakers and medical social workers. Kindly remember to ask for the Old Lyme Visiting Nurse Association by name when asked at discharge for you choice of a home care service provider.

The Old Lyme Visiting Nurse Association, Inc. continues to strive to deliver quality care to the members of our community, as we have done for 80+ years. Each year we try to offer additional services and we attempt to anticipate and plan for the ongoing and changing health care needs of our residents while continuing the tradition that is reflected in our motto: "Caring for all ages."
