In order to apply for a Pistol Permit from the Town of Old Lyme the following conditions need to be met:
1. Completed Pistol Permit Application (form #DPS-799-C)
2. Recent National Rifle Association (NRA) Certificate
3. Two Fingerprinting Cards from the Police Department .
In order to receive fingerprinting from Old Lyme, please call the OLPD at 434-7080 to set up an appointment. The 2 fingerprinting cards required are:
--Federal Bureau of Investigation blue card (form #FD-258)
--State of Connecticut green card (form #SP-125C or DPS-125C)
4. A $24.00 Certified Check or Money Order made payable to “Commissioner of Public Safety”.
5. Please bring the above information to the Selectmen’s Office for processing.
6. Once these items are processed through the State and local police, there will be a $35.00 charge due to the Town of Old Lyme upon issuing your permit, which is valid for five years.
