Inlands Wetlands Commission Minutes 05/01/2008
OLD LYME INLAND WETLANDS AND WATERCOURSES
         COMMISSION
        SPECIAL MEETING SITE WALK MINUTES
        THURSDAY, MAY 1, 2008

Call to order 5:10 PM at 13 Rogers Lake Trail

Attending: Commission members Janet Bechtel, Skip DeCamillo, E. Griswold, Robb Linde, and Don Willis. Tom Metcalf, L.S. P.E and Mr./Mrs. Lambert.

5:10 PM - #08-04 Application of Kristin Lambert – 13 Rogers Lake Trail – Demolish existing structure,
retain existing foundation and rebuild year-round single family dwelling.  Mr. and Mrs. Lambert explained their proposed application and pointed out the 30’ set-back from Rogers Lake and the location of the existing and proposed septic.  Discussion of the buffer along the Lake ended with the commission requesting a 15’ planted shrub buffer along the lake (as discussed in Marianne Pfeiffer’s Landscape Suggestions for Inland Waterside Properties) and that this requirement be noted on the site plan prior to our May 27th meeting.  The applicant will not be available to attend our May meeting.  The commission had no further questions and did not ask for a representative to attend on behalf of the applicant.

John Rhodes, David Arthur P.E., Nan Salvino, BOE Member, Bill Folland and other members of the public joined the commission members for the site walk of the proposed track reconstruction and associated drainage.

5:30 PM - #08-53 Application of Regional School District #18 – Reconstruction of the track and revised drainage.  Attendees meet on the site of the track.  John Rhodes pointed out the new boundaries of the proposed reconstructed track, explained that the scoreboard would be relocated and reiterated that this application is proposing that all drainage, associated with the track, be diverted to a pipe that will outlet to a level spreader located within the 100’ wetland review zone.  The attendees walked the path the pipe will travel and engineer David Arthur pointed out the location of the pipe outlet and explained the approximate dimensions and location of the level spreader.

6:00 PM – Lord’s Woods Subdivision – discussion of the replanting plan.  Commission member Mike
Moran joined the site walk and a discussion of the replanting plan was discussed in light of the regrowth
seen at the site.  Final details are to be voted on at the May 27th  meeting.

6:45 PM - #08-07 Application of Bedri Babusuli – 20 Grassy Hill Rd. – Proposed driveway construction
to provide off road parking and septic system repair.  Commission members walked the area and
reviewed the site plan and topography.

The site walk adjourned at 7:03PM.
