Don is working on this and will have copies for the commission members next month along with his recommendation for capital items.
White Sand Beach:  Jack Murphy, Board of Directors member of WSB, spoke with Don about the fact that the Town no longer has a raft at the Town Beach, which is adjacent to WSB.  White Sand Beach does have a raft and there are problems as beach goers from the Town beach are using it.  Discussion followed with the comment that the Town has signage stating no flotation devices allowed on the beach….concern about the ability of the lifeguard to monitor activity at and around the raft and whether it is deep enough in the area where the raft would be located.  White Sand Beach Association has offered to put in and remove the raft at the Town Beach.   Park and Rec Board members felt this was a very generous offer; they have no issue with it and will pass it on to the Board of Selectman.
Little League:  no one from Little League was at this meeting.  It is understood that they are still looking for funding to fix up LL field dugout area, etc. (safety issue) unofficially $5500 was mentioned.  It is the understanding of Park and Rec that volunteer labor was available and would be used for their projects.  It was learned there is a new Little League President, Paul Reed.  An invitation will be extended to Little League to attend the next Commission meeting, January 7, 2010.  Discussion followed:  because nothing was put in the ’09-’10 budget for this work, the commission possibly, within reason, would be willing to help with safety issues this year.  The rest would have to be put off until the new budget year.
Town Woods Park:  everything finished and locked up.
Town Woods Operating Committee accepted the bid from Country Lawn and Landscape for maintenance of the fields at TW Park.  This is a 3 year contract and will save the town $10,000 over the next 3 years.   Forwarded recommendation to the Board of Selectman and Board of Finance to accept this bid.

Next meeting January 7, 2010.

Motion made by Robert Dunn seconded by Roger Zito to adjourn at 8:04 pm.
Respectfully submitted,

Doris Johnson, Secretary
