PROGRAMS

Youth Basketball
The deadline for sign-ups has passed, but due to the low number of sign-ups and people willing to coach, sign-ups will continue for one more week.  The season will run from January through the first week in March.  There was a discussion on how with all the information and opportunities available to parents to sign up on time, why they don’t.

Yoga
Session three, four and five will begin in January, and go through the middle of May 2018.

Adult Basketball
Wednesday night basketball will run through June 6, 2018.
Sunday Basketball has started and will run to April 1, 2018.

Body Back Fitness Classes
Session two is now in progress, with sessions three and four TBA.

Budget 2018 – 2019
The Parks and Recreation Commission Budget, the Parks and Recreation Operating Budget and the Town Woods Park Operating Budget were all completed and turned in to the Finance Department.  The Board of Finance review of these Budgets will start in December.
Don Bugbee had not heard from the Lyme / Old Lyme Little League after their representative came to a previous meeting.  Don will follow up.

Don Bugbee reported on vandalism of the playground equipment at Hains Park.  The slides were removed and will be repaired.

4.  OLD BUSINESS
a. Boathouse Update
Don Bugbee reported on the last meeting of the Boat House Committee.  The Committee voted to make two scheduled payment to the contractors and talked about the drainage issues and how to fix them.  Public Works will be able to do some of the work with a plan in the works for solutions and cost.

b. Hains Park Improvements
Bob Dunn reported that he has heard nothing about the Hains Park Improvement Committee from Bonnie Reemsnyder yet.  He will reach out to Bonnie as soon as he can.

c. Cross Lane Playground update, funding, location, etc.
Missy Garvin reported that the site work is complete, the paving is scheduled for next week (weather permitting). The playground and the flooring will be delivered on site within the next couple of weeks. The Committee is looking for someone with a Bobcat and an auger to help with installation and would hopefully volunteer their time.  Missy will approach Al Bond about this.  Missy reported that the project is coming in under budget.
