Old Lyme has two beaches on Long Island Sound. It has two 40-foot strips of beach at the end of Hartford and Swan Avenues (Sound View Beach), and it has a 240-foot section of beach in the White Sand Beach Association.
Nonresidents have access to the Town’s Sound View beach, without charge, and are able to park in the Town’s parking lot or other private parking lots for a fee.
As a convenience to Old Lyme taxpayers, the Town sells season parking stickers which enable them to park at White Sand Beach, the Town’s Sound View parking lot, and Hains Park at Rogers Lake without additional charge. Qualified people may buy a season pass sticker for each eligible car they own.
The Town beaches at White Sand Beach and Hains Park will continue to be open to the public. Those without Town beach stickers may walk or ride a bicycle to the beach or they may be dropped off at the beach.
