Rogers Lake Regulations
As the summer begins, members of the Rogers Lake Authority remind us of Rules and Regulations that will be enforced by a Marine Patrol Unit.
Jet Skis are not permitted between Picnic Island and the western shore at any speed above 6 MPH regardless of direction of operation. Jet Skis cannot exceed 6 MPH when within 200 feet of shore, raft, or another vessel, and cannot operate after 6PM (7PM on weekends). The State has raised the minimum age for a Certificate of Watercraft Operation to 16. Boaters 12 to 16 years old who already hold certificates will be grandfathered. Otherwise, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a person who is over 18 years of age.
The speed limit is 6 MPH from sunset to 10AM. At speeds above 6 MPH, boats must be at least 100 feet from shore, raft or another vessel, and the preferred direction of boating traffic is counterclockwise. (Keep Blueberry and Whale Island to portside when traveling north). The maximum allowed horsepower is 135 at the prop or jet pump.
