Winter Storm Update
12 noon   January 21, 2014

At 10am radar showed light snow entering Southwestern CT.  Temperatures are currently are near 20 F at the coast with Northeast winds at 10 – 15 MPH. 
Winter Storm Warnings are now in effect for the entire state until Wednesday at noon and Wind Chill Advisories are in effect for for tonight. 
This afternoon: Light snow becoming moderate across the coast by 5 PM for Southeastern CT.  The Town can expect around an inch of snow on roads Tempuratures will be in the upper teens early, dropping back to the low teens by 5 PM.
This Evening and Overnight: Travel becoming hazardous along the coast by 8 PM with a moderate to major impact expected overnight as moderate to heavy snow continues from 7PM to 4 AM.  Very low wind chills are expected to range from -10 F at the coast with Northeast Winds gusting to 35 – 45 MPH at times.
Wednesday Morning: Snow ending from West to East between 6 – 8 AM. The morning commute can expect a moderate impact during morning rush hour with pockets of major impact possible along the coast.  Considerable blowing of snow is expected with temperatures around 10 F and North Winds gusting to 35 MPH at times. 
Total accumulations are forecast to range from with 10” – 14” expected throughout Southeastern CT
The Town will continue to monitor the latest conditions and release another  Winter Storm update at 4 PM this afternoon.
