Town of Old Lyme WPCA
Aug. 27th Public Information Meeting Postponed
For Immediate Release:
On Thursday, Aug. 15th, Woodard and Curran (W&C) presented a project update to the WPCA on the study they have been conducting on Wastewater Management options for the Shoreline Area of Old Lyme. This study focused on testing two initial sites for the disposal and reuse of wastewater. To date, the study has netted positive results to facilitate multiple wastewater management options, however, final recommendations cannot be completed until all assumptions and costs are reviewed and confirmed.
The Town of Old Lyme along with the WPCA had scheduled a Public Information Meeting for Tuesday, August 27th at 7:30 PM to share the findings of the W&C study. Unfortunately, the meeting must be postponed until the study is complete. The WPCA feels strongly that the details of the complete study, including viable alternatives, capital and lifecycle costs, and non-cost factors, will allow the residents of Old Lyme to choose the best wastewater management system(s) for their community. The original presentation was scheduled in an effort to provide convenience for all residents (accommodating those who are here in the summer months), so we will strive to schedule the meeting as soon as possible. Please watch the website for further information on this
meeting (www.oldlyme-ct.gov). If you would like to get an email regarding the date, please subscribe to our website for News and Announcements. Thank you for your patience while we continue to work on our wastewater management study.
