Connecticut has a rare and large Nor’easter bearing down on the state with an arrival sometime tomorrow afternoon and lasting into the early morning on Sunday. While snow accumulations at the shoreline are expected to be a dusting to 3 inches, the wind will be a larger factor which could cause power outages from falling trees and branches weakened by Tropical Storm Irene. With cold temperatures firmly in place, now is the time to make plans should you see an extended power outage; especially for households who have elderly or young children in them.
As always, stay tuned to your local weather station for up to date information on the storm as it approaches.
The Old Lyme Emergency Management Office will continue to monitor the storm and will provide updates as needed.
