Resident Input Requested on Emergency Preparedness and Response
First Selectman Timothy Griswold thanks residents for their patience & cooperation in the aftermath of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene.

Emergency Management Director David Roberge met recently with representatives of the Old Lyme Fire Department, Volunteer Ambulance, Public Works, Police Department, CL&P, and others to evaluate the Town's storm plan and response.
The Town is actively working on ways to improve its response to town wide emergencies.

One of the ways the Town communicated with residents during Hurricane Irene was through the Connecticut Alerting and Notification System. Messages about available town services were phoned to all home telephones in Old Lyme.
Because of power outages, many were not able to receive those messages. First Selectman Griswold and Mr. Roberge encourage people to register additional contact numbers through the Connecticut Emergency Alerting and Notification System.  Visit and follow the instructions to register a cell phone, work phone, e-mail address, or other contact number.
Please assist the Town's efforts by passing this information along to your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors.

First Selectman Griswold  invites residents to share their experiences at one of two scheduled Public Forums:
7pm on Wednesday, 5 October in the Meeting Hall at the Town Hall and 7pm on Friday, 7 October at the Sound View Community Center on Hartford Avenue.
"If we work together as a community, " said Griswold, "we can be better prepared for emergencies."
