Governor M. Jodi Rell announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has approved a $150,000 grant to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) for “aggressive driving enforcement” along the I-95 Corridor.
“This grant is especially timely, given last week’s tragic truck-car crash on I-95 in East Lyme,” Governor Rell said, referring to a horrific incident involving a tanker truck, a tractor-trailer and four cars on Nov. 2 in which three people died. Preliminary reports indicated there was at least an element of aggressive driving that contributed to the crash.
