The Town of Old Lyme’s Health Department is asking residents & visitors to refrain from feeding the geese and ducks at Rogers' Lake.
In 2003, the Health Department was forced to close Roger's Lake during the summer season due to high bacteria from Canada Geese and Duck droppings.
“When people feed the geese and ducks on a daily basis, it leads to health problems for people who want to use the lake. One way we can prevent problems is to stop feeding them,” says Rose.
Questions should be directed to the Health Department, located at the Old Lyme Marketplace during Town Hall Renovation, at 434-4465.
