Please join the Open Space Committee tomorrow - Saturday, May 5 - at 9:30 for the first of our walks on Town owned Open Space. We will be walking Champlain South led by Evan Griswold and George James. The walk will be approximately 1 1/2 hours.
This Open Space, right in the heart of town, was purchased in 2004 with the help of the State and The Nature Conservancy. Walkers will see spectacular 100 foot high cliffs, vernal pools seen only in Spring, a lovely old growth pine forest and meandering streams that feed the Duck River. Birders should bring binoculars in case Spring migrants drop in.
As there is limited parking, we recommend meeting at Town Hall and car pooling to the entrance at the end of Meetinghouse Lane. For more information call Diana Atwood Johnson at 434-9383.
